Flow

This event begins with the athlete on the start mat. At the sound of the beep, the athlete will move to the GHD and begin accumulating reps of GHD situps. When 50 GHD Situps have been accumulated the athlete will move to the line designating the start of the handstand walk. The athlete will handstand walk 30 feet down the lane to the next designated line. After crossing the designated line the athlete will drop down from the handstand and move to the barbell to begin accumulating reps of overhead squats. When 30 overhead squats have been completed the athlete will add the supplied plates to the bar. Clips must be put on the bar.  The athlete will then begin a 30 foot handstand walk back to the designated line nearest the rig. When the athlete has completed the 30 foot handstand walk the athlete will drop down and move to the GHD. The athlete will then complete 40 GHD situps, a 60’ Handstand walk, and 20 overhead squats. The athlete will then add the supplied plates. The athlete will then begin a 60 foot handstand walk back to the designated line nearest the rig. When the athlete has completed the 60 foot handstand walk the athlete will drop down and move to the GHD. The athlete will then complete 30 GHD situps, a 90’ Handstand walk, and 10 overhead squats. When 10 overhead squats have been completed the athlete will move over the bar to the finish line. When the athlete reaches the finish mat, time stops.

All Handstand walks will be completed in a minimum of 30 foot unbroken sections.

Scoring

The athlete's score is his or her total time for completing the event.

Movement Standards

GHD Sit Ups

  • Each rep begins and ends with the athlete seated at the top of the GHD with hands touching the foot pads. The athlete must touch the ground or designated riser with both hands before returning to the seated position. The touch on the ground or riser must be overhead, within the legs of the GHD, not to the side. The rep is credited when both hands return to the top and touch the foot pads. Throughout the movement the athlete’s hips must remain on the back half of the pad (away from the footpad).

Handstand Walk

  • The athlete must start with the hands (entire hand, including palm and fingers) behind the line denoting the start of the segment being attempted. If the athlete comes down at any time or exits their assigned lane, the athlete must restart from the last section completed. Both hands, including palms and fingers, must clearly cross the line marking the end of that handstand walk section to earn credit for that distance.

Overhead Squats

  • Each rep begins with the athlete standing tall with the barbell overhead in a fully locked out position. At the bottom, the hip crease must clearly pass below the top of the knee. The rep is counted when the barbell returns to a fully locked out position overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, and the bar directly over the middle of the body. Athletes may get the barbell overhead any way they choose. A full squat snatch is permitted, but not required, to start the movement if standard depth is achieved. Dropping the bar behind will be a no rep. Failure to stay within the 5’ section will also result in a no rep.
