The Tiebreaker for this workout is the time when the first pair finishes their portion of the workout.

The Time Cap is 30 minutes for this workout.

If a team fails to finish the entire workout within the 30-minute time cap, the score is 30:00 plus a one-second penalty for each rep not completed.

Flow:

At the call of 3,2,1 Go, the first Male/Female pair will complete Part 1 of the workout which is 21-15-9 of Synchronized Thrusters and Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees. This is your standard 21-15-9 workout, consisting of 21 Synchronized Thrusters, 21 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees, then 15 of each, and finally 9 reps of each. Once Male/Female Pair 1 is finished, Male/Female Pair 2 will start their portion of the workout which is 45 Synchronized Thrusters and 45 Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees. Both athletes in the Pair must use the same bar to perform the bar facing burpees. When the second pair completes their workout the time is stopped and that is the team's score.

Score is time.

The Tiebreaker for this workout is the time when the first pair finishes their portion of the workout.

Movement Standards:

Synchronized Thruster: This is a standard barbell thruster in which the barbell moves from the bottom of a front squat to full lockout overhead. The bar starts on the ground; no racks allowed. The hip crease must clearly pass below the top of the knees in the bottom position. A full squat clean into the thruster is allowed if the bar starts on the ground. The barbell must come to a full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, and the bar directly over the body. The synchronized portion of the movement is counted at the top of the rep, meaning both athletes MUST be locked out overhead in full extension at the same time in order for the rep to count.

Synchronized Bar Facing Burpees: Each burpee must be performed perpendicular to and facing the barbell, and athletes must share a barbell, side-by-side, to perform the synchronized burpees. The athlete’s head cannot be over the barbell and their chest and thighs must touch the ground at the bottom. The athlete must jump over the barbell from both feet and land on both feet. One-footed jumping or stepping over is not permitted. The synchronized portion of the movement is when both athletes are on the ground with chest and thighs touching the ground, meaning that both athletes have to be on the ground together in order for the rep to count.

Video Submission:

Prior to starting, film the measuring of the weights on the barbells so they can be seen clearly. All video submissions should be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. A clock or timer with the running workout time clearly visible should be in the frame throughout the entire workout. Shoot the video from an angle so all exercises can be clearly seen meeting the movement standards and have all 4 athletes stay in the frame for the duration of the workout. Videos shot with a fisheye lens or similar lens may be rejected due to the visual distortion these lenses cause.

Create a YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/yt/about/getting-started.html) or Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/join) account. Use only these two methods of video submission.

Score Validation:

It is the sole responsibility of the athlete to ensure the timely and successful submission of workout scores or videos each week. Submissions that are incomplete (missing information such as the complete score, the affiliate name or the judge’s name, or containing video links that do not work, etc.) will not be accepted.

There are two (2) ways athletes can have their scores verified for the MACC Qualifier Workouts.

  1. Performing the workout at a valid licensed CrossFit affiliate under the observation of a judge.  Affiliate managers have 48 hours after the workout to validate scores. It is NOT acceptable for an affiliate manager to validate scores that were not physically performed at that affiliate.

  2. Uploading a video of their performance of the workout. As part of this video review process, the athlete’s posted score may be accepted, modified, or invalidated by the MACC staff.

ELITE DIVISION ONLY

The Elite Division should be videoing ALL workouts because at the conclusion of the qualifier 1-2 random workout videos will be requested. These videos are required to verify your score in the Elite Division in addition to determining prize winners.

Prior to submitting a video, athletes should review the video to ensure their reps meet the required standards, that the camera angle, distance and lighting permit the judge to determine whether the movement standards are being met, and that there are no technical problems with the video itself.
