Newly Sanctioned CrossFit®️ Event to Move to DC Armory The Mid-Atlantic CrossFit®️ Challenge has moved to the Nation’s Capital. Baltimore, MD: Originally run in Baltimore, MD since 2012, the Mid-Atlantic CrossFit®️ Challenge (MACC) is moving to the DC Armory in Washington, DC in preparation for the 2019 competition.

The new partnership between Events DC and the MACC comes after significant changes to the 2019 CrossFit Games season, now offering the top male, female, and team finishers an invitation to the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin.

“Our team is excited to work with Events DC to kick off our competition for the 2019 season at the DC Armory. Choosing a 70,000 square foot multi-purpose facility allows us to provide the best experience for athletes and spectators,” said Luke Espe, founder of the Mid-Atlantic CrossFit®️ Challenge.

“Events DC is proud to partner with the Mid-Atlantic CrossFit®️ Challenge in hosting a CrossFit-sanctioned competition in DC for the first time,” said Gregory A. O’Dell, president and chief executive officer of Events DC. “Our nation’s capital is not only a premier destination for sports spectators, it’s also home to a robust athletic community of CrossFit participants and we are thrilled to join these groups together for an unforgettable, three-day experience at the DC Armory.”

Although the stakes are higher for elite athletes looking to compete at the CrossFit Games, the MACC continues to focus on the CrossFit community as they move forward by continuing to provide divisions of all skill levels.

The event has attracted nearly 800 athletes from over 75 affiliates across the United States and is looking to increase affiliate participation this year.

Opened in 1941, the DC Armory is both the home of the DC National Guard and is Washington, DC’s auditorium, arena, big top and ballroom, making it one of the most versatile venues in the mid-Atlantic region. Under its huge dome, visitors to this landmark showplace enjoy a year-round parade of events as wide-ranging and diverse as the people who come through its doors. MACC will continue to announce additional information in the coming weeks including online qualifier workouts, sponsorship/vendor information, hotel accommodations, and more.
